I want to stop you from going through the same trauma I did. I have been through an experience recently that caused me a great deal of stress. All I wanted to do was buy some sheets for my bed and I was brought into the world of the single fitted sheet and deep fitted sheets!
I think it is best to start by telling you some details about me. I am a male in my late twenties and live with my girlfriend. She is expecting and that means that I am doing more work around the house. One thing that I have had to do more is help with shopping and this is something I hate. She asked me to go and get some bed sheets recently but unlike she claims, I was never told about deep fitted sheets.
My ‘easy’ task started well. I walked to the shops and got what I thought was a really good set. I thought about the colours and chose one that was similar to what we had already but slightly different for a change. Not only did I find good colours, I picked the size for a double bed and then I bought some organic sheets.
I had the sheets in the bag at home and I was struck with a brilliant idea. I thought I would do something nice and change the sheets that were already on the bed. I thought I might be able to get into her good books. I got the new sheets out but I couldn’t get them over the mattress, it was too big. I tried again but it was no use, I just couldn’t do it.
I was in my mess still as my girlfriend arrived home. She asked what was going on and told me how stupid I was. She even said she had told me to get deep fitted sheets when she originally asked. I am sure that she never told me!
If you don’t want the same problems as me, resulting in having to go back to the shops to swap the normal sheets for deep fitted sheets, then please check the size of your mattress properly before you buy anything.
